Distillery: Glenlivet
District: Speyside
Bottler: Distillery
Age: 18 Years Old
Strength: 43 % Vol.
Colour: Whisky
Nose: Wooden raisin sherry mixed with vanilla and caramel
Palate: A plethora of flavours and spices inundates the palate, at the forefront is the raisin/Christmas cake taste battalion, which is followed by a lovely warmth
Finish: Lingering sweetness of toffee apple and pear, which has a pleasant smooth medium finish
Verdict: Many a night this whisky has kept me very contented, this is one of the best core range 18 year old whiskies out on the market and to think it was roughly £35 a bottle a couple of years ago made it amazing value. Price has now crept up to £55 a bottle but it’s still worth always having a bottle in your collection.
